You change it in the Text tab of the Inspector. Open the Face section and there is a color swatch and color picker to select the color.

If you are refering to text added via titles then you can change the color using the title tab or text tab in the inspector. If you are talking about the text in the application then white is what you get and is not settable to another color that I am aware of.

Text is added to video using the Title Browser. Once you have added the title to your clip you can set the font color using the inspector title or text tabs as I mentioned before.

My question is, can FCPX change font color to other colors on the screen, through use of the dropper tool, like FCP 6 & 7 are able to? I have to match the color of the font to the very specific color of a client & this was always easy in the earlier FCP's. But when I take the dropper away from the pre-selected color palette in the Face section of the Inspector, it goes away. Thanks.

Every Mac application that has color controls has the Apple color picker in it. It has a tool to select any color on your computer screen. Click the color swatch to get the color picker

Like every eyedropper it's a pixel selector. If you want exact, accruate colors get numeric values for the RGB colors you need.

Welcome to FCPX and Apple Discussions.. :-)

You will want to learn the Inspector - it's your friend! 😉

R-i-i-i-ght. So basically, the answer to my question is no, FCPX cannot do that. Thanks though.

No-o-o-o!

FCPX has the color picker = as Tom so nicely shows above!

And you can even keyframe the text color so it changes over time.. what more do you want?
